About Me

Hi! I am Julie Izatt.

I earned a Bachelor of Music Degree, emphasis in Piano Performance, from the University of Utah. While at the University of Utah I had many opportunities to participate in numerous departmental honors recitals, earned awards in the University of Utah SummerArts Piano Festival and Competition, as well as the opportunity to perform a piano concerto with the Salt Lake Symphony. I also played the piccolo as a member of the Marching Utes and the Pep Band, and played the flute in the symphonic band at the University.

I have over 30 years of private piano teaching experience. I teach all levels beginning through advanced and teach students ages 6 and up. Yes, that definitely includes adults! You are never too old to start to learn an instrument.

I have also spent time over the years gigging as an accompanist for numerous musical productions, composing music, and also performing with various groups, bands, as well as solo performances.

I grew up in the Taylorsville area in Utah. My family and I spent the last seventeen years living in Tucson, Arizona and thoroughly loved it. We recently returned to Utah and are trying to acclimatize back to colder weather after basking in the warmth of low desert life for so long.

I am married to an incredible husband, Mike, and we are blessed to be the parents of one daughter and two old, grumpy, but very lovable dogs. In my spare time I love playing the piano (yes, I still practice!), drawing, and creating lots of things. I also love to be outdoors as well as read and play games. I also enjoy martial arts and am a 4th degree black belt in mixed martial arts.
